¹⁵ He made a whip of cords and drove everyone out of the temple courts, along with the sheep and oxen. He scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. ¹⁶ To those selling doves he said, “Get these things out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a place of business!”

¹⁷ His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will consume me.”^[a]
